Cinematographer

Peter’s first love was film. His understanding of cinematography, however, was forged through years of practical experience in television, working alongside some of the industry’s most experienced lighting directors across entertainment, drama and comedy.

That experience gave him a strong instinct for light: how to shape a face, create atmosphere, control contrast and establish a visual language that serves the story. Combined with a lifelong passion for photography and a deep technical knowledge of cameras, lenses and camera systems, it has become the foundation of his work as a cinematographer.

A confessed lens addict, Peter has shot music videos, drama and branded content as Director of Photography, bringing together his understanding of light, composition, movement and performance.

His experience as a multi-camera director is equally important. Having led camera and lighting teams on complex live and recorded productions, Peter is accustomed to translating a director’s vision into images while giving a crew the freedom to experiment, respond and find something unexpected.

“As a multi-camera director, I enjoyed leading and inspiring my camera and lighting team, encouraging them to try anything new and unusual. It’s an ethos I bring to any project where I am fortunate enough to bring a director’s vision to life. Lighting and shooting a performance can be challenging but richly rewarding, and it’s something I hope to do more often.”
