Peter’s first love was film, however it was through practical experience in television with where Peter learned the art of lighting. Working as an assistant to the lighting director on entertainment, drama and comedy programmes he gained valuable knowledge of how to light a scene and how to create atmosphere and a particular look - a skill that has served him well when engaged as a Director of Photography.

A self-diagnosed lens addict, Peter has used his combined love of photography and lighting along with a deep technical knowledge of cameras and lenses to work as a director of photography on music videos, drama and branded content films.

"As a multi-camera director I enjoyed leading and inspiring my camera and lighting team, encouraging them to try anything new and unusual. It's an ethos I bring to any project where I am fortunate to bring a director's vision to life. Lighting and shooting a performance can be challenging but richly rewarding, and it's something I hope to do more often."

Working alongside established DPs as a camera operator is privilege Peter relishes. Although he is only at the early stages of his Director of Photography journey, he is eager to progress by working with peers in a quest for greater understanding of the art.
